Paradox was hired by an exploration and drilling service provider who needed temporary access matting for a drilling operation. The project quickly morphed into a full lease build package with a much bigger scope of earthworks required. This saved the client significant process and project management time.
Our experienced earthworks team took on the excavating, cut-and-fill, access matting, and restoration of the land.
THE MISSION

To provide earth-to-mat services, which
would facilitate matting for the client’s
rig operations and restore the farmland
to its initial state.
CHALLENGE ACCEPTED

Paradox had 6 days to mobilize and 6 days
to demobilize. This included all earthwork-required activities to make it happen. Because of the number of actions required, the team worked collaboratively and strategically to meet the client’s short timeframe.
THE PROBLEM

The client needed to cross privately owned farmland to reach their drilling site. This required matting to provide temporary access that was stable, durable, and safe to support the transportation of rig equipment. However, before matting could be laid, the site needed to be cut, filled and levelled.
The main challenge faced by the client was finding one team to execute the project from start to finish. Paradox provided a end-to-end service that reduced the burden of project management, and the need for duplicate equipment mobilization associated with having multiple service providers.
With a full lease package that included planning, continous communication, and site supervision, Paradox provided the following comprehensive solution:

build operation, including:
- cut-and-balance
- culvert installation and
- restoration (harrowing and seeding) after the client finished their operations
Additionally, Paradox provided a temporary matting solution for the client enabling access to their site.
